I’ve mentioned previously how I enjoy Kara Swisher’s podcast Sway. Swisher is a salty New York Times Italian-American lesbian opinion writer. Her expertise is in technology, and she is very vocal about taking Facebook and other tech companies to task for their mistakes. She also asks hard questions. (Listen to her recent interview with Andrew Yang.) I found it, therefore, particularly poignant to hear her touching recent interview with Monica Lewinsky. Through her questions, Swisher does a great job of showcasing the piercing, complicated trajectory of Lewinsky’s experience over the past 20+ years. And Lewinsky demonstrates her intelligence, humor, sensitivity, and integrity. It’s worth listening to for historical, as well as contemporary, looks on online bullying, the #MeToo movement, and human regret and forgiveness.
