“How I Built This” is an established podcast hosted by Guy Raz, but I just recently discovered it and would recommend it to anyone looking for something refreshing and compelling. Raz interviews entrepreneurs and innovators about their paths to success while also delving into their setbacks. I particularly enjoyed the interview of Dr. Pat Brown, the Stanford professor who asked himself what the most impactful issue he could work on was, leading him to create the Impossible Burger. Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia) and John Zimmer (Lyft) were also inspiring. Raz routinely asks his subjects if they think their successes were built on skill or luck, and the listener can find some gems in those responses. Here is one reviewer’s list of the best How I Built This episodes. I have not heard several of the ones listed, but I look forward to them.
