I must admit that I have just started listening to the podcast “You’re Wrong About,” but its premise is great, and the New Yorker recently reviewed it favorably. The goal of the podcast is to demonstrate how impressions we have about historical events – famous crimes, fads, entertainment – may be completely and totally wrong. Topics include Satanic cults, Princess Diana, and Y2K. At the start of each episode, one host reports on what s/he knows about an historical topic, and then the other meticulously debunks all of the myths we thought were facts. If you are interested in history, pop culture, and the faultiness of our minds and memories, “You’re Wrong About” is right up your alley.
